Position Overview
Sierra Vista is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Imaging Manager to lead imaging operations in San Luis Obispo, California. This is an excellent opportunity for an imaging professional with strong clinical knowledge and established supervisory or management experience to take the next step in their leadership career.
The Diagnostic Imaging Manager will provide operational and clinical leadership for the imaging department, support department staff, promote high-quality patient care, and help ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and organizational standards. Because professional licensure is required, the position may also include some patient-facing or clinical responsibilities.
Candidates may come from a variety of diagnostic imaging backgrounds, including radiography, CT, MRI, mammography, or diagnostic medical sonography.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight for diagnostic imaging services.
- Supervise, support, and develop imaging department employees.
- Promote safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
- Support staffing, scheduling, workflow, and department performance.
- Maintain compliance with applicable licensing, accreditation, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical leaders, and other hospital departments.
- Participate in clinical imaging responsibilities when operationally necessary.
- Identify opportunities to improve department quality, efficiency, and patient experience.
Candidate Requirements
- Approximately 7 or more years of related diagnostic imaging experience preferred.
- Approximately 3 years of leadership experience preferred.
- Previous Manager- or Supervisor-level responsibility strongly preferred.
- Candidates with substantial supervisory experience are encouraged to apply.
- Lead Technologist experience alone may not satisfy the leadership requirements for this position.
- Strong hands-on diagnostic imaging background preferred.
- Current registration or certification through one of the following:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), with a background in radiography, CT, MRI, or mammography; or
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- Current or obtainable professional licensure required, as applicable to the candidate’s imaging specialty.
- Bachelor’s degree Required. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered where permitted.
- Master’s degree preferred but not required.
Compensation and Incentives
The annual salary range for this position is $130–$190K. Compensation is determined by relevant experience and the organization’s internal compensation structure. Candidates should not assume that an offer will be made at the top of the posted range.
A $25,000 sign-on incentive is available to qualifying external hires. Sign-on agreement terms are established by the employer and cannot be modified.
Relocation assistance is not automatically included but may be considered on a case-by-case basis, particularly for qualified candidates relocating from outside California.
